STEPPING DISTANCE
Sometimes audience questions give me great ideas of things that I can share, or ways that I can improve my teaching. I received a great question sent to me on my Instagram, this is it here:
“Hey Dusty! Sometimes I see welding passes where the puddles are a little close together, and sometimes they are a little further apart. Which is correct?”
This is a great question, and it's something that I actually had to learn myself when I was first starting. To be completely fair, I will start off by saying either one can be correct, however only if they are done in a specific way and some very important steps are taken into consideration
After the important steps to be aware of are learned, people will develop their own style of what they prefer best and what works best for the application they will be using it for.
This is the beauty of TIG welding. There are specific uses for it as a trade, but it can also be developed as a craft or an art over time. Learning the important factors about technicalities of welding is extremely important however you will reach a point where you can develop a particular style and ways that you prefer to use these techniques for different scenarios.
This is the episode that focuses on this exact question!

With every episode I do, I want to teach and share with people the best ways I have found to go about learning how to weld. I never had resources like this when I first started learning, so it really means a lot to me that I can create learning materials for everybody and sharing these with the welding community is something that I am thrilled to provide.
I have an online program designed for beginners as well as people looking to further their skill. You can check out the program here!
